Capsule Learning

Capsule Learning is an experimental learning structure designed for a moment when information is abundant but attention, reflection, and sustained curiosity are increasingly scarce. Rather than organizing learning primarily through long lectures or large blocks of content, short media “capsules” introduce a single idea, question, technical concept, or provocation before students enter the classroom. The capsule is intentionally incomplete: its purpose is not to explain everything, but to create enough cognitive friction and curiosity for learners to arrive ready to question, test, discuss, and make. In AI PLAY, capsules connect technical AI literacy with questions of cognition, culture, ethics, and human agency. A brief encounter with an idea outside the classroom becomes the starting point for conversation, embodied experimentation, creative action, and reflection inside it. As an NGB experiment, Capsule Learning asks a broader question: What happens when we design educational structures not simply to deliver more information, but to create conditions for attention, curiosity, agency, and meaning-making in an AI-saturated world?
